Andrej Kupetz has been the managing director of the German Design Council, Frankfurt am Main, since 1999, and studied industrial design, philosophy and product marketing in Berlin, London and
Paris. After various positions in design management and university liaison, he joined Deutsche Bahn AG in 1997, where he was responsible for brand management in the Group and the implementation
of various corporate design processes. Kupetz is a member of the advisory board of the Design Management Institute in Boston. He has been a member of the University Council of the HfG Offenbach
on the Main since 2011. in the same year, he was appointed to the European Design Leadership Board by the European Commission. He is married and has three sons.
The German Design Council is one of the world's leading competence centers for communication and knowledge transfer in the field of design. Its
circle of founders currently includes more than 260 companies. The German Design Council was founded in 1953 on the initiative by the German Parliament to strengthen the design competence of the
German economy. Its diverse activities pursue one goal: Communicate the long-term increase in brand value through the strategic use of design.
