Architect, Partner, Kauffmann Theilig & Partner
"Besides trade organizations and associations, which are naturally restricted to topics concerning what they do, i.e. organizations for architects,
engineers, designers, graphic designers, etc., there is a gap as it were, in which a more general look at things can be offered. This gap is filled by the aed's concept. Against the background of
interdisciplinary work, which is becoming more and more important, beyond the limits of one's own job as well as local limits, more and more fields are mutually dependent. With a modern computer
programme the characteristic features of human faces can be developed and visualized just like constructions for bridges. Exhibitions turn into architecture, and architecture turns into the
exhibit. Since it has existed, the aed has done a lot to track down exactly these connections, to make them visible publicly and to make the public aware of them, especially in wellorganized
events. That's the way things should continue."
Ben Kauffmann has been involved with national and international architecture as an architect and cofounder of Kauffmann Theilig & Partner for more than 20 years. Moreover, for many
years he was executive director of the Federation of German Architects in Baden-Württemberg.
