Through the project »Seeds – Clothing that Grows«, the understanding the material world is relearnt through the medium of clothing. The zero waste collection consists of biodegradable raw materials and is composted into a flower bed. Thus on the one hand, the clothing is as environmentally friendly as possible in its production and, on the other hand, is a disposable product that starts to grow after being returned to the natural cycle. Consumers regain the feeling of self-efficacy that is being lost through digitalisation and globalisation.
The project »Seeds – clothing that grows« is convincing because of its very poetic approach, which makes the theme of sustainability tangible in the project itself. One focus is on the end of the lifecycle of clothing, the »afterlife« occurs in a very sensitive combination of materialities that distinguishes this conceptual approach of the project.
